  • Helium gas flow thermostat for ESR measurements
    in temperature range 7 – 300 K

CRYO202ESR is a helium gas flow thermostat which stabilizes a set-up temperature of a probe within resonator of the ESR spectrometer. CRYO202ESR setup includes the storage dewar, vacuum isolated liquid helium transfer line, needle valve regulator (manostat) and temperature controller unit. Liquid helium is transferred from a storage dewar through a vacuum isolated transfer line to the heat exchanger. The heat exchanger shielded by copper screen, cooled by outgoing helium flow, is located into pumped out interior of the thermostat body. The sample is mounted within the double wall vacuum isolated quartz ampule, located in the spectrometer resonator. The sample temperature is controlled by the temperature controller tSTAT310xc. The electronic unit forms a continuous helium flow from the dewar, controls the power of the electrical heater at the heat exchanger as well as the helium flow rate by differential pressure regulator and needle valve opening in the manostat. The cold helium gas flows through the heat exchanger to the sample, located within the vacuum isolated quartz ampule.

The Cu/Cu:Fe thermocouple monitors the temperature near the sample. The carbon powder adsorption pump mounted inside the cryostat body secures the vacuum isolation of the transfer line and double wall quartz ampule.
