  • Liquid nitrogen production units with output 0.4-2.5 l/h

Liquid N2 productions units N2Liq-17.0 series produce liquid nitrogen of 98% purity directly from surrounding air. Special membran separates gaseous N2 fromother air gas. The use of the intermediate N2 and air reservoirs sequres long-time continious operation of air compressor and generally the N2 production unit. As an option, the fitting of the production unit by N2 and air is possible from external reservoirs. The condensations of gaseous N2 is performed on the heat exchanger attached to the cold stage of the Gifford-McMagon type cryocooler. The heat exchanger and the the cold stage of cryocooler are isolated from extenal body by evacuation of the internal volume of the cryostat.

The condensated N2 is stored in the storage nitrogen dewar. The liquid N2 production unit is completed by nitrogen levelmeter and nitrogen transfer line, safety valve and N2 separation membrane.

Operation principles

The compressed air is collected into the intermediate air reservoire, which is connected with the purification filter and N2 separation membrane. After the membrane the 98% gaseous N2 is stored in the nitrogen reservoir. The gaseous N2from reservoir under pressure 0.1-0.3 bar comes to the cold head of the cryocooler and after condensation on the heat exchanger at 77 K is stored in the nitrogen storage dewar. The liquid nitrogen levelmeter monitors the filling of the storage dewar, while the liquid nitrogen transfer line sequres the transfer of N2 from storage to transport dewar.
